Gabriel Rusu is a Romanian police commissioner and occasional comic artist. Born in Gherla, he studied Law at the Police Academy in Bucharest and History in Cluj. He is head of the Cluj Police School. Between 1990 and 1999 he has published many historical and science-fiction comic stories in magazines like Universul Copiilor, Jurnalul SF, Mini Azi de Bucarest and Mesagerul copiilor. He has also drawn for the police magazines Tânărul Poliţist and Poliţia Clujeană. His work has been collected in books like 'Premiera' (Risoprint, 1996) and 'Porţile creaţiei' (Immunda, 1999). He has made a comic adaptation of the Jules Verne novel 'The Eternal Adam'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
