L'Aventure Mauricienne, by Sadon

Annick Sadonnet was born in Granville dans la Manche, France. She started drawing at an early age. In 1989, she married a man from the isle of Mauritius, Africa, and a few years later Annick obtained the Mauritian nationality. In 1996 she met Idriss Lallmohamed, with whom she developed the idea to make a comic about the history of Mauritius. She continued with the comic 'Aventures de Mario', about a Mauritian detective, which was published in 1999 in newspaper L' Express. Annick Sadonnet also made small online comics, such as 'Le Grand Chaos' for amylose.net, which she signed "Ajol" (her married name is Jean-Louis). She also made cartoons under the name Sade, short for Sadon, and has worked on a new comic called 'La Vie Privée de Dan Baize', about a young Mauritian.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
