David Sánchez is a comic artist from Madrid, Spain. Influenced by Charles Burns, Dan Clowes and also Hergé, he has published books like 'Tú me has matado' (2010) and 'No cambies nunca' (2012) with the Bilbao based publisher Astiberri. His next book, 'La muerte en los ojos' was published by ¡Caramba! in the collection Jaimitos.

Sánchez is also the creator of the Mong line of T-shirts, for which he designs two annual collections. He has illustrated the book 'El Destripador' by Robert Desnos, that was published by Errata Naturae. He has also made drawings and designs for other publications by his publishing house. His work has been published in Calle 20, El País de las Tentaciones, El Semanal, EP3 (the cultural supplement of El País), Man, Público, Rolling Stone, Shangay Express and El Manglar.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
