Several new Portuguese humorous magazines appeared in the late 1870s. One of the first, best and longest-running of these magazines was O Sorvette, published by the illustrator Sebastião Sanhudo. Among the several comics he published in this magazine, were some continuing stories. Sanhudo started his career in the magazines Pae Paulino (1877) and O Porto Cómico (1880-81), before he started O Servette, which he published until 1900. |
