Born in Palermo, Emiliano Santalucia did his first professional comics work for Star Comics and Play Press in 1988-89. Afterwards, he attended the Milan School of Comic Art. As a child he was a big fan of the TV series 'Masters of the Universe', and together with his friend Alessio Di Marco he launched a fansite, which featured his artwork.

In 2002, he was asked to illustrate the 'Masters of the Universe' comic books for Image Comics, based on the new relaunched television series. Santalucia has also worked on the 'G.I. Joe' titles 'A Real American Hero' and 'Snake Eyes Declassified' (Devil's Due Publishing) and 'The Transformers: Spotlight' (IDW), also licensed series based on 1980s TV cartoons. He additionally draws the 'Ninja Storm' comic for Power Rangers Magazine.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
