Strip Up, by John Schleipen

John Schleipen is a Dutch comedian who also does a regular comic strip for free newspaper Sp!ts. He studied Dutch language and literature from 1988 to 1994 and has been in theatre shows since 1993 as a member to the cabaret group Crème Fraîche. In 2004, he did his first one man show. As a promotion for his website, he developed the comic strip 'Strip Up', which is a mix of stand-up comedy and current-affairs. In September 2005, the free newspaper Sp!ts started publishing the strip twice a week in its pages, and from October 2007 it appears on a daily base.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
