Coolman und Ich by Heribert Schulmeyer
Coolman und Ich

Heribert Schulmeyer is a German children's book illustrator and comic artist. He studied Graphics and Illustration at the Kölner Werkschule, where he learned the profession from illustrators and designers like Heinz Edelman and Daniel Spoerri. He published his first comics in German underground magazines like Zomix and RAd ab! in the 1980s. Unlike the other artists in those magazines, his work, generally fables, was characterized by its conservative panel arrangements and clean image structures.

Schulmeyer has since worked as an illustrator for a variety of children's book series, such as 'Leselöwen' by Loewe Verlag and 'Leserabe' by Ravensburger. He is the writer and illustrator of the Pixi series 'Hansi Hase', that is published by Carlsen. He is the regular illustrator of the work of Rüdiger Bertram, Manfred Mai and Christian Tielmann. Schulmeyer and Bertram have also collaborated on the series 'Coolman und Ich', which is a mix of text story and comics panels. Schulmeyer is furthermore an artist affiliated with the WDR children's show 'Die Sendung mit der Maus', and one of the founders of the theater group Kölner Kästchentreffen.

Series and books by Heribert Schulmeyer in stock in the Lambiek Webshop:

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
