'Ferien in Mittelalter'.
Reiner Schwalme spent most of his life in the DDR (German Democratic Republic), the communist part of Germany. He studied graphics in Berlin and became a professional graphic artist in 1966. He did illustrations for books and magazines. His comic series 'Ralf und Robert' appeared in Trommel (1978), and the stories 'Der Schatz von Finkenrode' (1980-81) and 'Ferien im Mittelalter' (1981-82) were published in Für Dich. Since 1985, he was employed by critical satirical magazine Eulenspiegel as a cartoonist. In the early 1990s, he became a political caricaturist for Sächsischen Zeitung.
