The Animal's Christmas, by Walt Scott

Walt Scott was the artist of among others the Sunday comic 'The Little People'. These little characters first appeared in one of Scott's many Christmas stories in 1950. Later on, Scott also featured his characters in comic books, published in Dell's Four Color Comics. During the 1940s and 1950s, Scott drew the Sunday pages of 'Captain Easy' as an assistant to Les Turner. In the 1950s he also produced the newspaper comics 'The Magic Egg', 'The Little Blue Duck' and 'The Animals' Christmas'. He drew 'The Little People' until his death in 1970.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
