Åke Skiöld was a Swedish comic artist and illustrator, who worked for magazines, books and comics. He had his first cartooning experience with Musse Pigg-tidningen in 1937-1938. He was affiliated with the Stockholm-based agency Ateljé Dekoratör, where he assisted Birger Allernäs and Lars Bylund on comic stories starring Disney characters like 'Mickey Mouse'.

He created his own series for Året Runt in the 1950s, called 'Kalle Knarr', while also contributing to Fantomen and the newspaper Expressen. He has written and illustrated books like 'Fantastiska Öland' and 'Fantastiska Småland'. He was the author of a well-known correspondence drawing course that was widely advertised in Sweden from the 1950s through the 1970s.
