Michael Sloan spent several years working as a printmaker in Paris, France and Venice, Italy before moving to New York City in 1990. His illustrations first appeared on the Op-Ed page of The New York Times, where he remains a frequent contributor. His award-winning work has been recognized by American Illustration, The Society of Illustrators, and the Communication Arts Illustration Annual. He has taught classes in conceptual illustration at The Rhode Island School of Design and The University of Connecticut. His comics have appeared in The Comics Journal, published by Fantagraphics. In 2004, he self-published the small comic book 'Professor Nimbus'.
