Les Légendaires

Patrick Sobral was born in Limoges, and was a porcelain decorator for twelve years before he began working in the field of comics. A fan of manga, he made his debut writing scripts for the publishing house TanKam in 2000, including his tale 'Dynaméis'. In September 2003 he began his association with the publishing house Delcourt, that has published his heroic-fantasy series 'Les Légendaires' since 2004. With artist Nadrou he began a spin-off series called 'Les Légendaires - Origines' in 2012. Sobral additionally made his comics version of the classic tale 'La Belle et la Bête', that was published by Delcourt in 2008.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
