Cattivik, by Giorgio Sommacal

Giorgio Sommacal began his career working for local papers, before joining the staff of Silver in 1989, where he is drawing for series such as 'Cattivik' and 'Lupo Alberto'. From 1990, together with Cominelli, he created the character 'Zia Agatha' for Il Giornalino (Edizioni San Paolo). Also for this magazine, he created the series 'Contatti' with texts by Piero Lusso. In 1996, they developed the character of 'Yellow Kill', published in the magazine L'Isola che non c'รจ. Since 1996 Davide Mosca began to ink most of Sommacal's 'Cattivik' stories.

In 2000 he started to collaborate with the publisher Mondadori, illustrating the covers of a children's book series called 'Ridere'. In 2006 he drew, together with Luigi Piccatto, two episodes of the series 'Demian', published by Edizioni Bonelli. He also holds classes on producing comics in both private and public schools.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
