Kim Song-hwan's fascination with art was evident from early childhood. In 1949, Yonhap Shinmun published his 'Mongtongguri' in fifteen issues. Song-hwan created 'Old Kobau' in 1950, which made Song-hwan a household name for nearly half a century. He is recognized as a pioneer in Korean newspaper cartooning, and was the first to create an enduring four-panel strip. Kim Song-hwan and 'Kobau' have been given many honors. |
