Jen Sorensen, who was born and raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, studied anthropology at the University of Virginia, where she became a Night Supervisor of the research library. She also is the creator of 'Slowpoke', a weekly comic strip that appears in several alternative newspapers throughout the USA, for which she was nominated twice for the Friends of Lulu Kimberly Yale Award for Best New Talent. |

Jen was awarded a Xeric Grant to publish 'Slowpoke: Cafe Pompous'. Jen Sorensen's work has also appeared in several other publications, including 'The Big Book of the '70s', 'Action Girl Comics', 'Empty Love Stories' and 'the EXPO anthologies'. Other creations by her are 'Li'l Gus' and the 'Drooly Julie' character which is also featured in 'Slowpoke'. Jen Sorensen now works as a web designer at the University of Virginia. |
