Robocop, by Silvio Spotti

Silvio Spotti was born in São Paulo, where he still lives and works. He has a degree in arts from the FMU/FAAM university. He began his career in 1992 as a penciller for the small press in Brazil. In 1996 he started working as an inker, working on a Brazilian version of the 'Street Fighter' comic book, through the studio he has with Arthur Garcia.

Ariel, by Silvio Spotti

In 2003 he began working for the USA market with the Magic Eye Studio, inking a 3 issue mini series for IDW, 'Wynonna Earp'. Since then, he has inked several issues of 'Stargate SG1', 'Robocop', and 'Stargate Atlantis' for Avatar press, as well as 'Daniel Prophet of Dreams' for Alias comics.

Sesame Street by Silvio Spotti

As a penciller/inker, Spotti has done work for Disney (USA/Europe), drawing stories with 'Donald Duck', 'Kim Possible', 'Toy Story', 'Little Mermaid' and others. In addition, he has drawn the 'Sesame Street' comic for the Dutch Sesamstraat magazine (scripts by Frank Jonker, Herman Roozen).

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
