Born in Årsta, Stockholm, Kalle Strokirk began his career in 1970, publishing the Marty Feldman-parody 'Smarty' in Allers. He also published parodies in the shortlived magazine Komix. He moved to a more political direction when he began working for Seriefront in 1973. He is author of the albums 'Marxismens Politiska Ekonomi i Tecknad Serieform' and 'Gräsliga Gubbar'. His series 'Åstrafön', 'Kalles Hjältar', 'När jag fyllde femtio önskade jag mig en dator' and 'Kurts Krog' were published in Dagens Nyheter. He has also been working on an animated version of 'Kalles Hjältar'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
