Stéphane De Becker met Tome and Janry in 1974, while studying art under the guidance of comics artist Guy Brasseur in Woluwé-Saint-Lambert. The three of them cooperated on several projects. After his studies at the Saint-Luc in the late 1970s, he began working in a realistic style for several fanzines. In 1985, he rejoined Tome and Janry in their studios. He became the colorist of the series 'Spirou et Fantasio', and then later on 'Le Petit Spirou' and 'Soda'. He also continued to draw, using the pseudonym Stuf. He took on the games strip 'Jeux d'Enfer' with text by Janry in Spirou in 1988. Two years later, this page evolved into the gag strip 'Passe moi l'Ciel', which also appeared in album at the publishing house Dupuis.
