Michel Suro was born in Toulouse. He sold his first artwork at age seventeen. Being a self-taught artist, he exploited several lines of business, such as advertisement and photography. He eventually turned to comics and his first pages were published in the daily La Dépêche du Midi in 1992. A year later he met comics writer Corbeyran, with whom he started a project that remained unfinished. Suro then teamed up with François Corteggiani with whom he created the 'Sundance' western series. In 1999 he joined Corbeyran again, and started 'Le Clan des Chimères', a series set in the same universe, but in a different time period as 'Le Chant des Stryges', another series by Corbeyran. Michel Suro is also the illustrator of 'Raimond le Cathare', a comics adaptation of a novel by Dominique Baudis. With scriptwriter Simon Rocca, he has created 'Barca' for Soleil Productions in 1996.
