Captain Tsubasa, by Yoichi Takahashi

Born in Tokyo, sports fan Yoichhi Takahashi began his career in 1981, when he created his famous soccer manga 'Captain Tsubasa' in Shonen Jump. The series ran for 8 years, and was also turned into an anime version. From 1988, Takahashi has been working on new sports mangas, such as '100 M. Jumper' (about athletics, in 1988), 'Ace' (about baseball, in 1989) and 'Chibi' (about boxing). In 1993, he returned to 'Captain Tsubasa' with a new series of new manga and anime projects, making his character from boy prodigy to World Cup superstar.
