Mohamed Tawfik (also written as Tawfeek) is a comic book artist from Cairo, Egypt. He has worked as an illustrator in the Caïro area since 1997, and is affiliated with the animation and media house Basim Studio since 2006. Tawfik is one of the contributors to Basim's eponymous comics magazine, that is one of the leading children's publications in the Arab region since 1987. He is also one of the founding contributors to the quarterly comics magazine for adults Tok Tok, of which the first issue appeared in January 2011.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop.
However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
