Arie Teeuwisse was a sculptor and artist from Amsterdam. From 1947, he made illustrations and later on also comics for the KRO Gids. Until 1965, Teeuwisse created several text strips for the radio guide, in cooperation with several text writers. With text writer Wil Janse, Teeuwisse produced among others 'Eekhoornstaartje', 'Scherpoog en Snelpen', 'Een Klompje Goud', 'Vrouwtje Misère van Heiloo', 'Aan de lange, lange Linde' and Het Toverpannetje.
With writer Lou Hoefnagels, he created several stories with the character 'Kroosje', such as 'Kroosje in Somberland', 'Kroosje en Camilla de kameel', 'Kroosje en de Parelvissers' and 'Kroosje en de Fotomensjes'. Also with Hoefnagels, he made 'De Dikkerd aan het Strand', and 'De Neeltje IV'. He wrote the text for 'De Wraak van de Mammoet' and 'De Hebberiken' himself, while other contributions to the magazine include 'De Watronauten', 'Professor Pingel' and 'Het Spook van Bla'. The strip 'Een Klompje Goud' was also printed in the KRO-Boek voor de Jeugd. Teeuwisse is however best known for his sculptings.
