Der Dritte Tell, by Melk Thalmann

Comics artist and musician Melk Thalmann was born in Luzern. He studied at the Schule für Gestaltung. He started the punkrock band Melk Them, and together with his band, he made a "Comic Rock Opera". He created the comics character 'Kommissar Roggenmoser' together with Christian Langhagen in 1989. Since then, he has been working as a freelance comics artist and illustrator. With text by Mark Kirchoffer, he illustrated 'Der Dritte Tell', about the Swiss farmer's rebellion of 1653. Other comics by Thalmann are 'Einer Schlief Nicht' and 'Die Vier-Wald-Stadt-Ballade'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
