Karl Tollet is originally from Calais. He discovered comics through the pocket comic books. After high school, he went to Brussels to study Graphics at the Institute Saint-Luc. He did several small advertising and illustration jobs, before he created his first comic. He began the series 'S.C.A.L.P.' in cooperation with writer Jean Wacquet at La Téméraire'. The series was later continued at Soleil. He then associated himself with Damien Marie and began 'La Cuisine du Diable' at Vents d'Ouest in 2004.
