Giancarlo Tonna started out drawing series like 'Babula e Babuk' and 'Cappuccetto Nero' for the magazines Oscar and Walter. He also drew 'Nonno Giobbe' and 'La Foca Mimě'. At the publishing house Universo, he drew for Il Monello, and at Alpe, he worked for Cucciolo ('Camillo, Lupo Tranquillo') and Il Giornalino. He drew two Disney stories for Mondadori's Topolino in 1978.
