Narcissa by Lance Tooks

Lance Tooks is a comic artist and illustrator from New York. A former assistant editor at Marvel Comics, he has done artwork for television commercials, films and music videos. He has self-published the comic books 'Danger Funnies' (co-published with Cry For Dawn), 'Divided by Infinity' and 'Muthafucka'. He also illustrated 'The Black Panthers for Beginners', written by Herb Boyd.

He has contributed to a Hurricane Katrina benefit comic, as well as to the Graphic Classics line of books, adapting the works of Edgar Allan Poe, Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson and Ambrose Bierce. His graphic novel 'Narcissa' was published by Random House/Doubleday in 2002, and his four volume series 'Lucifer's Garden of Verses' was published by NBM. Tooks has also contributed to the anthologies 'The Beats' (Hill and Wang), 'Studs Terkel's Working' (The New Pres) and 'The Graphic Canon' (7 Stories).

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
