Dan Verlinden, who signs with only his first name, is the longtime assistant of Tome and Janry on their 'Petit Spirou' comic. Born in Charleroi, Verlinden learned the comics profession during Vittorio Leonardo's courses in Châtelet. He began his career with Leonardo's coloring studio, where he also lend a hand on some 'Lucky Luke' artwork for Morris.
He was employed by Éditions Dupuis as a letterer and revisor, while also making some editorial illustrations for Spirou. He became Tome and Janry's assistant in 1993 and has worked as a penciler, inker and co-plotter on their 'Petit Spirou' gags ever since. He also inked some backgrounds in the 'Spirou et Fantasio' story 'Luna Fatale'.
