The Italian artist Ferdinando Vichi was one of the main artists for publishing house Nerbini. Mainly working with writer Paolo Lorenzini, he illustrated numerous stories for L'Avventuroso from 1936 to the early 1940s. Some of the titles include 'Il Pazzo della Giungla', 'L'Agente della Ghepeu', 'L'Ombra Dagli Occhi Verdi', 'Petrosino', 'La Metropoli Distrutta', and 'Guerra di Continenti'. He has also worked for Giornale di Cino e Franco and Pisellino. A graduate in Fine Arts, Ferdinando Vichi is one of Italy's best realistic comic artists of the 1930s.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
