La Petite Cuillère

Virginie Vidal got her degree in Graphic Art in Roubaix, and then she continued her studies in Germany. There, she started self-publishing comic books, such as 'La Corneille et le Casque' (2003) and 'Ma Vie à Berlin' (2003). She eventually enrolled in the Saint-Luc Art Institute in Brussels to study at the comics department. She joined a comics atelier in Lille, where she works alongside François Duprat, Nicolas Delestret and Vanyda.

She has published books like 'La Besiole de Lilou' (Jocatop, 2004) and 'La Petite Cuillère' (with Kami, Carabas, 2009). Vidal has participated in several collective projects of the publishing house Petit à Petit, such as the collection 'Contes'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
