Welcome to my Asylum by Xavier Vilanova
'Welcome to My Asylum' (Spanish version, Psycho #12)

Francisco González Vilanova was an artist who mainly worked on action stories through agencies like Selecciones Ilustradas. During the first half of the 1970s he contributed short stories to US horror magazines Psycho and Nightmare, published by Skywald. Such writers as Al Hewetson and Doug Moench provided the scripts. He also drew for Weird Tales of the Macabre, published by Seaboard Comics, and illustrated 'Tarzan' stories for the British market. It is believed that he shared the pseudonym "2 Hots" with Josep Toutain.

In Spain, he has published 'Niní, Chica in' in Gaceta Junior (1969), 'Bikini Cat' in Bikini Cat (1977) and 'Crónicas Después de una Guerra' in Delta (1983). Vilanova's name was often spelled as Villanova or Villanove in the US market.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
