Albatross

Vincent Beaufrère, who signs with his first name, is a comic artist from Lyon. He studied at the Émile Cohl art school and began his career working in the video game industry from 1997 to 2004 (Calysto and then Doli Denki). He made his first comic pages for Aviasport magazine. Together with editor Gil Roy, he made the series 'Aviateurs', that is collected in books by Cépaduès from 2007.

Between 2006 and 2008 he made the series 'Albatross' for Glénat. In 2007 he started the series 'Aviateurs'. In 2009 and 2010 he made the diptych 'L'École Capucine' with Djian for Vents d'Ouest. His art is influenced by Régis Loisel and Bernard Yslaire.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
