
Gaetano Vitelli was part of the creative staff of the publishing house Nerbini in Firenze between 1932 and 1940. For the Topolino newspaper, he made a couple of one-page stories featuring 'Mickey Mouse' and some non-Disney characters, around 1933-35. For Il Giornale di Cino e Franco, he drew 'Tony il Saltimbanco' (1936), 'Le Perle Nere' (1937) and 'Il Segreto dei Giganti' (1937-38). Also, he drew 'Scintillino e il Fantasma' in Pinocchio (1938), 'Gli Scorridori del Mar dei Caraibi' for Giungla (1938), and ''Il Palombaro Italiano' for Pisellino (1940).
