Ferdinand Freiherr Von Reznicek was an Austrian painter, illustrator and caricaturist. He initially followed his father's footsteps in the army, becoming a cavalry officer, before turning to an artistic profession. He set up his own art studio with Paul Hoecher in 1888. He worked with industrial designers and contributed to satirical magazines like Jugend, Simplicissimus and Fliegende Blätter. Coming from a noble Austrian family of Czech origins, he was the half-brother of composer Emil Nikolaus Von Reznicek.
