Star Wars, by Doug Wheatley

As an artistic teen growing up in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Doug Wheatley pursued various art courses in high school including commercial art, and was mentored by an older professional artist named George Freeman. Soon Wheatley found himself working on comics full-time for various companies when Dark Horse editor Randy Stradley contacted him to see if he would be interested in creating a cover for 'Star Wars Bounty Hunters: Kenix Kil'. In addition, Wheatley has since illustrated covers for issues of Empire, and worked as a penciler with Paul Chadwick on the 'Star Wars Empire: Darklighter' series. Besides 'Star Wars', Wheatly has done artwork for comics like 'Space Patrol' (his first comic), 'Superman: Last Son of Earth', 'Superman: Last Stand on Krypton' and 'Aliens: Avenging Angels - Apocalypse', as well as comics featuring 'The Incredible Hulk', 'Blade the Vampire Hunter', and 'Conan'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
