The Escapist, by Eric Wight

Eric Wight is a professional animator and illustrator whose clientele includes Warner Brothers, Walt Disney, Cartoon Network, Universal Studios, DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, and HBO. Wight has contributed to such shows as 'Superman' and 'Batman Beyond', and was art director of the proposed 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' animated series. His first professional comics work was published in 'Hellboy: Weird Tales' by Dark Horse. He then worked on Dark Horse's 'The Amazing Adventures of the Escapist'. Eric Wight won the 2004 Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award for his illustration work on this title.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
