Tom Wilkinson was one of the early British comic artists. As a pioneer, he was one of the first to experiment with the six-panelled page layout of comics, drawing lush decorations around the panels of his comic 'Lanky Larry and Bloated Bill', which appeared in the Comic Home Journal in 1902. He also contributed to magazine Chuckles (started 1914), for which he created 'Breezy Ben and Dismal Dutchy'. |
