In 1973 Mary Wings made history by releasing Come Out Comix, the first lesbian underground comic book. Wings created the comic in reaction to a lesbian story by Trina Robbins in Wimmen's Comix #1. Wings later released 'Dyke Shorts' and 'Are Your Highs Getting You Down?' Wings then left the comics scene. She has written a number of lesbian detective novels, including 'She Came to the Castro', 'She Came by the Book', 'She Came in a Flash', and 'Divine Victim'. |
