Jan Lul by Oscar de Wit
Comic from De Andere Agenda

Oscar de Wit was born in Bandung, Java, in the Dutch Indies. He studied Psychology and worked as an education reformer in Amsterdam for many years. He eventually developed himself into an author (his book 'Met koele obsessie' was awarded the Van der Hoogt prize in 1980) and fine artist with a speciality in painting suburban landscapes and depictions of the helplessness of people.

During the 1960s and 1970s he was the author of several controversial comic stories. These appeared in publications like God, Nederland & Oranje, Vandaag, Bijster, Interlinks and Variaties of Variaties. His comic 'Jan Lul en zijn maat' and 'White Man's Burden' were published in Van Gennep's De Andere Gids, and caused quite a stir with the Federation of Parents because of their candid drawings. Abroad, his work appeared in Sex-Igeleien (Germany) and Charlie (France).
