Oz by Skotti Young

American comic book artist Skottie Young was born in Bristol, Tennessee. He began his career with Devil's Due and UDON and started working for Marvel Comics after moving to Chicago in 2002. He drew mini-series like 'Spider-Man Legend of the Spider Clan' and 'New Warriors: Reality Check', as well as issues of 'The New X-Men' and 'Human Torch'. He has also served as a cover illustrator for several other titles.

Young is best known for his adaptations of L. Frank Baum's 'Oz' books. The first installments, 'The Wonderful Wizard of Oz' and 'The Marvelous Land of Oz' met with critical acclaim. Young has worked with Eric Shanower on the following series, 'Ozma of Oz' and 'Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz'. Young is also known for illustrating several baby variant covers of classic Marvel heroes and villains. He lives and works in Dunlap, Illinois.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
