Bang!, by Yurg 1986

After trying his hand at several jobs, Yurg became a freelance graphic artist. While drawing for several advertisement companies, he created 'Slimmeke Slim' with Yaack Bakker in Het Gazet van Antwerpen, and 'Bang!' with Ikke in Robbedoes. In the early 1990s, he came up with 'Wendy Stript Ze!' in Panorama, about the sexy adventures of Wendy van Wanten.Under the pseudonym Munka, De Muynck worked with Giba on the series 'Ella & Mekanik' in Suske en Wiske Weekblad, a magazin for which he also drew 'De Discosaurus'. He was present in Libelle with 'Familie Twist', and did short stories and illustrations for Flair. Later on, Yurg started working as an animator for computer games.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over 12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.

If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
