Bill Ziegler did the 'Annie Oakly' Sunday page from 1951 to 1952. A year later, he did the daily 'Dragnet' strip, which he continued until 1954. He was an assistant inker on the 'Mary Worth' newspaper strip from 1954 to 1970. From 1985 to 1991, he also did the pencil work on the strip. Ziegler worked for Dell Publishing from 1956 to 1959, illustrating such western and adventure series as 'The Frontiersman', 'Rex Allen', 'Dale Evans', 'Range Rider', 'Johnny Mack Brown', and 'Wild Bill Elliot'. He returned to the company in 1975, when he did some adventure stories for Disney ('Island at the Top of the World', 'Escape to Witch Mountain', 'Andy Burnet'). In the 1970s, he worked on 'Grimm's Ghost Stories' and 'Addams Family'.

Since 1999, Lambiek presents the Comiclopedia as a free service to comic fans from all over the world. The database has expanded to over
12,000 biographies of international comic artists, and also has an extensive Dutch section about comics in the Netherlands.
For 15 years, the site was funded from the resources of our Amsterdam-based shop. However, the current economical circumstances make it difficult for us to maintain this service. At the moment the Comiclopedia's sole editor works for us free of charge, aided by a couple of (international) volunteers.
If you want to help us continue and improve our ever- expanding database, we would appreciate your donation through Paypal.
