'Bob Dylan Revisited'

Galerie Lambiek and Silvester Editions were delighted to host the book presentation of the anthology 'Bob Dylan Revisited' on Thursday the 28th of May.

A group of thirteen internationally esteemed artists, including Lorenzo Mattotti, Francois Avril, Dave McKean and Gradimir Smudja, made an hommage to the great poet-musician. Each of them transformed one of Dylan's lyrics into a gorgeous short comic. The book contains both the original lyrics and the Dutch translation.

Translators Erik Bindervoet en Robbert-Jan Henkes sang a few of the songs at the presentation. Gradimir Smudja, who illustrated the beautiful song 'Hurricane' and also the book cover, was present to sign the book. Thanks to everyone who came for a nice evening, and we hope you all get your own copy of this lovely book.

Joost Veerkamp presented an exhibition of silkscreens and posters, showing his true love for architecture, in December 2008 until the end of January 2009.

'Inferno'

Marcel Ruijters and Galerie Lambiek were delighted to host the original art exposition 'Inferno', from Friday the 25th of April 2008 until mid-June 2008. All 119 original pages from the recently published graphic novel (Oog & Blik, Amsterdam) were on display as a tribute to the May 2008 award. Inferno won first prize for the VPRO Best Dutch Graphic Novel of 2008. Congratulations!

The original scrapeboard illustrations were on display for the new booklet, 'Bestiarium', available since June 2008.

The Heinz Empire

'The Heinz-Imperium' by René Windig & Eddie de Jong opened on 24 August 2006 in Galerie Lambiek. Many original sketches, drawings and comic strip panels were on display, along with recent paintings and amusing bric-a-brac.

The Aart Clerkx exposition opened in Galerie Lambiek in April 2006, and Dutch underground artist Aart Clerkx (Acé) exposed his many oil and acrylic paintings.
