René Windig and Eddie de Jong, proud fathers of the popular Dutch newspaper comic strip cat, Heinz, created a series of 200 "miniatures", small paintings measuring about 2" by 3". Many of them feature the famous Heinz, but also other creatures, escaped from the bizarre minds of these comic geniuses, are squeezed into this format. When these miniatures were exhibited at Galerie Lambiek many people jumped at the chance to own an original Windig & De Jong painting for only 50 euros, including frame. This unique exhibition opened on Friday the 13th of December 2002. |
