Alfredo Genies was an artist drawing for Catalan comics in the 1980s. His work appeared in magazines like Cimoc, Creepy, Más Madera!, Metropol, Tránsito and Zona 84. In 1985 he began the series 'Alex Magnum' with scriptwriter Enrique Sanchez Abuli in Zona 84. Albums were published by Toutain. Also with Abuli, he created 'Moko', a series published in Más Madera and Cimoc. He is the son of comic artist Manfred Sommer. With the French scriptwriter Jean-Blaise Djian, he has made 'Les Implacables' (Nucléa, 2003) and 'Le Mystérieux Docteur Tourmente' (Emmanuel Proust Editions, 2005), both under the name Alfredo Sommer.
