Steve Gibson was born in Manchester, England in 1961. He studied Graphic Design at a local art college for a year after leaving school. At this time, he met Mike Matthews, with whom we produced the underground Napalm Kiss comic issues 1 & 2 (1977-78). He worked for Knockabout Comics between 1981 and 1988, writing and drawing his own material, as well as collaborating with Hunt Emerson and Neil Gaiman. Between 1986 and 1988, he worked as a freelance cartoonist for Oink!, the British chidren's comic.
He has represented Great Britain since 1990 at Italy's HUMOURfest exhibition/competition, winning 2nd prize in 1996 for 'Last Tango in EuroDisney', which the British press refused to publish. In recent years, he has produced commercial work.
