Zane Grey is more known for his western novels than for his comic work. In the early 1930s, he frequently worked together with Jack Abbott, who illustrated his work. Zane Grey actually only worked on one comic series. In 1935, Stephen Slezinger asked him to create a new adventures comic. A few months later 'King of the Royal Mounted' was published in various newspapers. The main figure was Sergeant King, a Canadian Mountie who always got his man. In 1936, Grey left the comic world and started focusing on writing books again.
