Edison Lee by John Hambrock

John Hambrock was born and raised in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. He continued his education at Indiana University, and later Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida, where he graduated with a degree in graphic design. From 1985, he worked for design agencies like James Courtenay James Inc. in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and the Hirsch Design Group in Chicago. He left Hirsch after almost ten years as an art director, and started his own company, In-House Communications. Specializing in industrial advertising, packaging and print design, his client list includes major industrial and retail manufacturers, but also several law firms.

By 1999, he began developing his own comic character, the boy-genius Edison Lee. After years of preparation, 'The Brilliant Mind of Edison Lee' was first syndicated to newspapers by King Features in November 2006. The feature was nominated for "Best Newspaper Comic Strip" by the National Cartoonists Society in 2009, and a first book collection was published in 2010.
