Arthur Alain Martens was born in The Hague. He is a freelance illustrator and cartoonist for magazines and children's books. He made two comic books in the 1980s: 'Stoney High & Freaky Beaky' and 'Wat een Hondebaan'. His strip 'Stoney High & Freaky Beaky' was originally published in the softdrugs propaganda magazine Highest Magazine. Martens also drew a comic called 'De Familie Wakker' for De Gelderlander, and contributed to the bodybuilding magazines Hercules and Sport & Fitness. His work has been prominently featured in the bears section of the Ouwehands Zoo in Rhenen, The Netherlands. Martens was furthermore the illustrator for a series of children's bedtime storybooks called 'Berenbos Bedboekje'.
