Douglas Potter is an American comic artist who started out in the underground comix scene, drawing for the comic series 'Dr. Wirtham's Comix & Stories'. He also published at Dark Horse comics and Kitchen Sink Press, for which he wrote and drew 'Chips & Vanilla', 'Messozoic', and stories for 'Death Rattle'. His 'Denizens of Deep City' ran eight bi-monthly issues and was nominated for two Harvey Awards.

Doug Potter's book illustration includes the award winning two-volume collection of Bradley Denton's short stories from Wildside Press: 'The Conflagration Artist' and 'The Lenny Bruce Home For Dead Comedians', and a children's book written by Joe Lansdale, 'Something Lumber This Way Comes' from Subterranean Press. 'Geek Confidential' by Rick Klaw from Monkeybrain includes the comic book adaptation of 'Bob the Dinosaur Goes to Disneyland', written by Joe Lansdale and adapted by Klaw and Potter. Doug Potter continues to do editorial cartooning for The Austin Chronicle, where his work has appeared for more than fifteen years.
