Bife Angosto
Gustavo Sala was born in Mar del Plata, a beach town on the coast of Buenos Aires. A comic artist, writer and graphic artist, he entered the field of underground comix in the late 1990s with his fanzine Falsa Modestia and contributions to Comiqueando. In 2000, he released his first book, collecting his best work from his fanzine.
He worked for other fanzines until landing a job with the local newspaper Pagina 12, for which he made the comic strip 'Bife Angosto' in the paper's rock supplement NO. He is also a contributor to the children's magazine Genios with the comic strip 'Torni Yo' in cooperation with Carlos Trillo, Eduardo Maicas and colorist Humberto Miranda.
Sala has published short stories and series like 'El Baño' and 'Violeta Macho' in Fierro magazine since 2006. 'Bolatriste', a collection of his Fierro comics and other material was published in 2009. He is a cartoonist for the Argentinian edition of Rolling Stone magazine, ans also publishes his work in the Spanish magazines El Jueves and Orsai. He is also a singer, writer and performer for radio and comedy shows.
